Important: Please Read Carefully

Allergy Detective AI is not a medical device, is not intended for medical diagnosis, and does not provide medical advice. The information provided by this Service is for organizational and informational purposes only. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions about a medical condition.

1. Not a Medical Device

Allergy Detective AI is an informational and organizational tool. It is not a medical device as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or any other regulatory authority. It has not been evaluated or approved by the FDA or any other regulatory body for the diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention of any disease or medical condition.

The Service does not perform allergy testing, does not interpret allergy test results, and does not diagnose allergies, sensitivities, intolerances, or any other medical condition.

2. No Medical Advice

All content provided by Allergy Detective AI — including AI-generated analyses, potential trigger observations, cross-reactivity observations, watch list suggestions, elimination plans, medication response patterns, trend analyses, and Doctor Case File reports — is for informational and organizational purposes only. It is not intended to be, and should not be used as, a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always seek the advice of your physician, allergist, dermatologist, or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or symptoms. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or received from Allergy Detective AI.

3. Emergency Situations

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.

Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) can be life-threatening. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, rapid heartbeat, dizziness, or loss of consciousness. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek emergency medical attention immediately.

Allergy Detective AI is not designed for, and must not be used during, a medical emergency. The Service includes automated checks that attempt to flag content suggesting a potential emergency, but these checks are not a substitute for your own judgment. If you believe you are having a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately — do not wait for an alert from the Service.

4. AI-Generated Insights

The AI-assisted analysis features of Allergy Detective AI process your logged data to identify potential patterns and possible triggers. You must understand the following limitations:

  • Correlation is not causation: The Service identifies patterns in your data (for example, a food that tends to appear before symptoms). A pattern does not prove that the food caused your symptoms.
  • Possible, not confirmed: All triggers identified by the Service are described as "possible" or "potential." They are hypotheses to investigate, not confirmed diagnoses.
  • Incomplete data: The accuracy of any analysis depends entirely on the completeness and accuracy of what you log. Missing or incorrect logs can lead to misleading patterns.
  • No medical review: AI-generated analyses are produced by automated systems and are not reviewed by any medical professional.
  • Safety checks are imperfect: Our systems include automated checks to flag content that may involve medical advice or potentially dangerous recommendations, but these checks are not perfect and may miss or misidentify content.
  • Confidence bands are not medical probabilities: The confidence labels (Strong Pattern, Moderate Pattern, Emerging Pattern, Insufficient Evidence) describe the strength of the observed pattern in your data, not the medical likelihood that a trigger is real.

5. Medications

Allergy Detective AI allows you to log medications and may analyze how logged medications correlate with symptom changes. This analysis is observational only:

  • Do not start, stop, or change the dose of any medication based on information from Allergy Detective AI
  • Do not use the Service to determine whether a medication is working or to compare medications
  • Always consult your prescribing physician or pharmacist before making any changes to your medication regimen
  • Medication response patterns generated by the Service are not a substitute for professional medical evaluation

6. Elimination Diets and Cross-Reactivity

The Service may suggest elimination plans or cross-reactivity observations based on your logged data. These suggestions are organizational tools to help you track what you are considering, not medical recommendations:

  • Do not begin an elimination diet without consulting a healthcare provider, especially if you have existing health conditions or dietary restrictions
  • Elimination diets, particularly for children, can lead to nutritional deficiencies if not supervised by a healthcare professional
  • Cross-reactivity observations are based on general allergen relationships and may not apply to your specific situation
  • Watch list suggestions are starting points for investigation, not confirmed allergens to avoid

7. Doctor Case File Reports

The Doctor Case File feature generates a summary of your logged data for you to share with your healthcare provider. This report is an organizational tool that compiles your own logged information — it does not contain medical interpretations or recommendations. Your healthcare provider should evaluate the report in the context of your full medical history and any clinical testing.

8. Use with Children

If you create profiles for children within your account, you are responsible for all health-related information logged on their behalf. Children's allergies, sensitivities, and nutritional needs differ from adults and require professional medical supervision. Do not use the Service as a substitute for pediatric medical care.

9. Your Responsibility

By using Allergy Detective AI, you acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on information from the Service
  • You will not rely on the Service as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
  • You will consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any changes to your diet, medication, or treatment
  • You will seek immediate emergency care if you experience a severe or life-threatening reaction
